Kinder Morgan Texas Pipeline LLC's ("KM Texas") intrastate pipeline
system includes approximately 2,900 miles of pipelines, gathering lines, sales laterals
and related facilities ranging from 4” to 30” in pipeline diameter. KM Texas purchases and/or
receives natural gas from producing fields in South Texas, the Gulf Coast area, the Gulf of
Mexico and the Permian Basin of West Texas for sale and/or delivery to markets in the Austin,
Houston and Beaumont/Port Arthur areas. KM Texas provides natural gas purchase, sale, gathering,
transportation, storage, processing and treating services.
KM Texas system includes gas storage, processing and treating facilities. KM Texas has
interconnects with approximately 26 other intrastate and interstate pipelines.
KM Texas is a merchant, as well as a transporter, of natural gas. Principal customers of
KM Texas include the electric and natural gas utilities that serve the Austin, Houston
and Beaumont/Port Arthur areas and industrial customers located along the Houston
Ship Channel and in the Baytown/Beaumont/Port Arthur area. KM Texas also serves markets
in the area of Monterrey, Mexico through an interconnection at the United States-Mexico
border.
